Maths

Our maths curriculum is designed to develop strong number fluency, mathematical reasoning and confidence. Learning is carefully sequenced to ensure pupils build secure knowledge and skills over time, with a clear focus on understanding, application and problem solving across KS2 and KS3.

In KS2, pupils develop secure foundations in place value, mental and written calculation, fractions, decimals and percentages. They explore shape, measurement and data, and are introduced to early algebraic thinking. Pupils are encouraged to reason mathematically, identify patterns and apply methods to a range of practical and real-life contexts.

In KS3, pupils deepen and extend their understanding of number, algebra, geometry and statistics. They work with equations, sequences, graphs, ratio, probability, area and volume, developing increasingly accurate and logical approaches to problem solving. Pupils are taught to explain their reasoning clearly, use appropriate mathematical language and make connections between different areas of mathematics.
