AQA Unit Awards

Our AQA Unit Awards provision allows pupils to have their learning recognised through short, achievable units of work. The scheme covers a wide range of learning areas, including academic subjects, practical skills, creative activities and personal development, enabling pupils to demonstrate progress in meaningful and relevant ways.

AQA Unit Awards are flexible and inclusive, allowing pupils to work at an appropriate level and pace. Learning is often practical and applied, with pupils gathering evidence through activities, projects and real-world tasks. Each completed unit is formally accredited, providing regular recognition of achievement.

The scheme plays a key role in building motivation, confidence and engagement. Pupils experience success through clear goals and tangible outcomes, which supports perseverance and positive attitudes to learning. AQA Unit Awards also link closely with other curriculum areas, reinforcing skills in English, maths, science, PSHE and wider project learning, while supporting the development of independence, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
