Computing Curriculum

Our computing curriculum builds pupils’ digital confidence, creativity and understanding of how technology works. In KS2, pupils learn essential digital skills, including using software to create documents, presentations, images and simple media. They develop early programming skills using block-based coding, exploring sequencing, repetition and basic logic. They are also taught how to stay safe online and use technology responsibly.

In KS3, pupils deepen their understanding of computer systems, networks, websites and data. Programming becomes more advanced, introducing structured problem-solving and text-based coding. Pupils also learn about the appropriate and ethical use of AI, including how AI tools work, their benefits, their limitations and how to use them safely and responsibly. They continue to develop digital content, analyse information, explore cybersecurity and understand how computers process and store data. The curriculum prepares pupils for the digital demands of modern life and future pathways in computing and IT.
